Filling the UK construction skills gap

Last week H Bell & Sons were represented at a National Federation of Builders (NFB) event at Westminster.  Louise joined other National Federation of Builders (NFB), members at an event with the Secretary of State and Shadow Secretary for Education and CITB, discussing ways to fill the skills gap in the construction sector.

Louise, alongside other business leaders from the local area and across the UK, spoke with the Right Hon Gillian Keegan MP,  Secretary of State for Education at the event, which was held at Westminster Hall.

Our company has had many apprentices work with us over the years, having built strong links with local colleges and schools. Some of our most experienced and valuable experts joined H Bells as apprentices, starting their careers with us and helping us to build the company into what it is today.

We hope that UK Government takes on board some of the suggestions from the event, to help secure the future of the construction sector in the country. It’s good to be given the opportunity to contribute to the national discussions on these important issues.
