As part of the Rochdale Town Hall restoration project, we’ve lovingly reassembled the old dining table which sits in the Mayor’s parlour, or the Lord Mayor’s Dining Room as it was once known. Thankfully the casually-sexist phrase ‘Lord Mayor’ isn’t used these days, but the occupiers of the role were always male in the early days of this important municipal building.
This historic piece of furniture dominates the space where Rochdale’s Mayor used to greet visitors, and will be able to be seen by the public from March 2024, when our Town Hall reopens.
The team at H Bell & Sons are proud to be involved in the latter stages of these important works, making our home town’s great building a place to visit once again.
